Der Fortschritt ist da. Das ganze komplizierte Setup mit den DJ-Apps und den Buzzy Buttons ist obsolet, wenn man Syrinscape hat. Ich bin hochbegeistert vom Gesamtkonzept: die App gestattet schlichtes Management von Einzelgeräuschen ebenso wie das einfache Zurechtmischen von komplexen Soundkulissen. Die lassen sich als schnelles Setup auch speichern, wieder aufrufen und kombinieren. Hübsch anzusehen ist es auch. Syrinscape hat nur zwei Nachteile: bisher gibt es das ganze nur mit vorgefertigten Soundsets und im Fantasy-Design. Damit ist es natürlich erst mal raus für mich. Der SciFi-Player ist aber schon in Arbeit, und irgendwann soll es offenbar auch ein Programm zum Erstellen eigener Soundsets geben (wenn ich dann noch einen Wunsch äußern könnte, wäre das ein konfigurierbares Widget mit den wichtigsten Reglern. Ja, ich bin gierig, ich weiß).
Bis dahin habe ich mich aber trotzdem schon mal verbessert: mit dem frei belegbaren Custom Soundboard habe ich zumindest schon mal eine bequeme Lösung, die Musik und Effekte auf einen Bildschirm vereint. Alle Sounds lassen sich angenehm konfigurieren und bequem miteinander kombinieren, und die Buttons sind farblich gestaltbar, was einem die Gruppierung erleichtert. Die Lautstärke ist leider nur etwas umständlich zu regulieren, aber diese App ist schon mal definitiv ein großer Schritt voran.

The progress has arrived. The whole complicated setup with these DJ apps and the Buzzy Buttons is obsolete once you have Syrinscape. I'm excited about the whole concept: the app allows a simple management of single effects as well as the easy mixing of complex soundscapes. These can be saved quickly as a setup, can be reapplied or combined. And it's good looking, too. Syrinscape has only two drawbacks: it only works with pre-made soundsets and in a fantasy design. Thus it's no option for me at this time. But: a SciFi Player is already in the making, and some time in the future there shall come an editor for own sound sets (and if I could wish for something here it would be a configurable widget with the most important faders. Yeah, I'm greedy, I know).
Until then, I still use something better than my previous system: the Custom Soundboard. It's a convenient solution for at least having music and effects on the same screen. All sounds can be configurated and combined easily, and the buttons can be colour-coded for your convenience. Volume changes are a bit complicated but this app is definitely a step forward.
